Good Guys In The Air

There are many flying insects that are beneficial to your home landscape. Butterflies, dragon flies, and ladybugs are flyers that everyone loves and considers special. Some of the other good guys carry a bad rep with them. Those are the hornets, wasps, and yellowjackets. While they do indeed sting when aroused, collectively these warriors will consume thousands of caterpillars and other pest bugs in a season.

The honeybee and the bumblebee are common visitors to the flower and vegetable garden and they do much of the pollination work needed by those plants. For more information see Bees As Pests.

Here we talk about those flying insects that have a good public relations company on their side.
