In The Landscape: Silver king is striking in massed plantings. It is also useful for filling in empty spots, and for separating clusters of strong colored flowers in the garden. It goes especially well with pink, lavender, and blue flowers. Since it is a tall plant, silver king should be placed in the middle of a border or bed, between the low plants in the front and the very tall ones at the back of the bed.

Drying: For use in dried arrangements, pick Artemisia stems in late August. Strip off any soiled or dead leaves at the bottom of each stem, and air-dry them by hanging them upside down in a dry place.
