Using Flax in Landscape
Perennial flax is a popular choice for perennial flower borders along walks, buildings and fences. A smaller form of this plant, `alpinum', is ideal for rock gardens. Because of its tendency to self-sow, perennial flax is very appropriate for meadows and areas of the property left to a more natural landscape. Unfortunately it is not suitable for cut flowers, because the blooms last for such a short time.
