Coralbells are ideal for edging a sunny flower or shrub bed, or for grouping in threes in a partly shaded bed. The color of purple and silvery leafed hybrids shows to best advantage in a woodland setting that has dappled light.

Container Gardens - Coralbells will grow in containers 1 to 2 feet in diameter and 1 foot deep. Plant them in soilless potting mix for good drainage. Mix in slow-acting granular fertilizer to provide consistent ongoing nutrition. Be sure to water container plants often, especially those located in the direct sun.

Coralbells Attract Wildlife: The tiny coralbell flower’s nectar and shape attract hummingbirds.

Cutting/Displaying Coralbells Indoors: Coralbells make lovely cut flowers. The dainty blooms on graceful stems add lightness to formal arrangements featuring tall, strong flowers. They co-ordinate perfectly in smaller displays of other delicate flowers like forget-me-not, lily of the valley, pansies, johnny-jump-ups, creeping phlox and baby’s breath. Add commercial floral preservative or some citrus based carbonated soda to the water in their vase to prolong freshness for over a week.
