Using Peonies

Use peonies as borders along paths and drives. Plant them along property lines, fences and walls. Interplant peonies with ferns and bearded iris in corners and groves for stunning effect.

Cutting/Displaying Indoors: Peonies make superb cutting flowers. Cut just opened blossoms early in the morning with a sharp knife. Be sure to take only 2 or 3 leaves. Plunge the stems into warm water for an hour or two before arranging them for display. Add a teaspoon of sugar to the water in the vase to prolong the bloom.
