Use violets for edging, as massed plantings in small areas, as specimen plants in rock gardens, or naturalized in wild gardens. Some gardeners have even encouraged them to grow between flagstones in place of the usual moss or gravel.

Cutting/Displaying Indoors: Those violets with stems of 5 inches or more make lovely additions to small bouquets and arrangements of cut flowers. Cut new flowers early in the day, include as much stem as possible. These dainty flowers are easily overwhelmed by larger blooms and show best along with other delicate flowers like coral bells, johnny-jump-ups and pansies, forget-me-nots, lilies of the valley and creeping phlox.
