Using Willowleaf Cotoneaster

Willowleaf Cotoneasters are spreading plants with arching stems and a very graceful habit of growing. These shrubs are extremely versatile and are good choices for shrub borders, foundation plantings, and groupings. They blend well with most other plants, and mix very attractively with broadleaved evergreens. The lower-growing varieties are often an ideal solution to an awkward bank in a yard. Several staggered rows of one of these varieties planted as a ground cover will cover the area fairly quickly and will require little maintenance. Plant Spreading Cotoneasters where their attractive evergreen foliage and red berries may be appreciated.

Cutting For Indoor Display: Try cutting flowering or fruiting branches of Willowleaf Cotoneasters for a pleasing indoor display. For more information see the files on Keeping Cut Flowers and Cut Flower Supplies
