Planting Bald Cypress

Bald Cypress is found naturally in the southeast US, but they do well as far north as southern New England and the Great Lakes. They can handle winter temperatures as low as -10° F .Locate Bald Cypress trees in a spacious site. They do best in full sun but will tolerate shade. Also, they are adaptable to a wide range of soil types (pH 6.1 to 6.5, even to 7.5). Because they are accustomed to wet soil, they can tolerate boggy soil, even flooding, but they do perfectly fine in normally dry soil. They even accept compacted soil. Bald Cypress trees transplant easily because they have shallow, fibrous roots. For more info about planting trees click here.
