Caring for Katsura Tree

Spring
Because Katsuratree is not very drought tolerant, it is very important to keep a 3 to 4 inch layer of mulch around its base all year round. Minimum mulching distance from the truck should be 4 to 5 feet. For more information see the file on Using Mulch

Summer
Katsuratree is intolerant of drought and should be protected from direct exposure to wind. The leaves often drop in mid to late summer in response to dry weather. After planting this tree should be given supplemental watering the first 2 to 3 years. For information on products see the file on Choosing Watering Equipment
