Caring for Tuliptree

Maintain a 2 or 3-inch layer of organic mulch over the root zone of the Tulip Trees year round. It will help keep the site moist, discourage weeds and protect the tender bark from injury by mower or trimmer. Because mulch improves the soil as it gradually decomposes, Tulip Trees in moist, decent soil will not require annual fertilization after the first year or two.
