Planting Yellowood Trees

The American Yellowwood prefers growing in full sun, but will tolerate living in part shade. It wants that well drained moist soil. It comes from alkaline soils in the wild but will also tolerate living in acid soils as long as they don’t go below pH 6.0. Get a nursery grown plant and plant it in the spring if you can. Fall is okay but spring is better.
