Passionflower Vine

Month to Month Care for Passionflower Vine (Passiflora caerulea)

Passionflower Vine - Plant new Passionflower Vine seedlings purchased at the garden center or nursery, as soon as danger of frost is past and the soil is warm.

Passionflower Vine – If Passionflower Vines are growing in good soil containing lots of organic material, they need no feeding in the spring when the seedlings start growing.  In poor soils use a one cup of slow-release granular fertilizer per plant.

Optional task – Passionflower Vines grow best when mulched.  As soon as the Passionflower Vine seedlings are tall enough, spread a 2 or 3 inch layer of some organic material such as chopped leaves, dried grass or wood chips on the soil around the plants.

Passionflower Vine – Cut overly long shoots or weave them among the other stems of the plant. 

Give this vine a liquid fertilizer application every three weeks or so, according to label instructions.

Passionflower Vine – The spectacular flowers of this plant will give a show throughout the summer.

Passionflower Vine – This plant occasionally will produce 2 inch long fruits which are edible and tasty.

Passionflower Vine – This plant will die from the freeze of winter.
