    Woodchucks

Woodchucks (also known as groundhogs) work fast. One day the garden will be fine, and the next it will be completely devastated, albeit ever so neatly. Usually the woodchuck is a more methodical eater, then deer are. While deer browse, eating a little here and a little there, the woodchuck will systematically work entire row of carrot tops. Or he might take just one bite out of each ripening tomato as he works down a row. The sides of a row of Brussels sprouts looks like a tree trimming outfit just left your garden. You may find yourself with a broken leg if you step into an unseen entry hole. If you feel like sitting down and crying, you have woodchucks!
