Diagnose Corn Borer

The first symptom is ``shotgun'' holes in the funnel-like new growth of corn. Shortly thereafter, the borers move into the stalk or into the ears. A sawdust trail can be seen around the stalk. The plant gradually wilts. On potatoes, borers invade the stalks.
