About Northern Grasses

Years ago, maybe 20, there was a distinct difference in appearance and character of each of the common northern grass species. But in the intervening period, breeders have pretty much eliminated the difference in appearance between each of the most common species, and have eased the difference in character. Remember, earlier in this file we recommend a mixture of grass seed rather than a blend of just one species. At the same time, if you wish to look into the strengths and weakness of each of the northern grass species, click on the buttons to the left.
