Brown Patches In Lawn

Question From: Ypsilanti, Michigan, United States
Q: What is the best insecticide product to use that will permanently kill moth and possible other insects from eating up my lawn causing brown patches? Will Milorganite help? No sign of grubs present.

A: Brown patches can be caused from a variety of reason and may not be insects. Moths are not your problem. Diseases may be an issue. Lack of water during times of excessive heat and drought may be part of the mix. Milorganite is not a complete fertilizer and not the best choice for troubled lawns. Also, there is no product that will permanently kill insects. I recommend you use a fertilizer called Grass Magic, available at English Gardens, according to package directions.
