Clematis Leaves Have Black Spots

Question From: L. Cote - Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
Q: My clematis is developing black spots on the leaves and then they dry up. I put garden Raid but I don't know if that is good enough thank you Linda

A: Linda, The black spots on the leaves are not caused by insects so Raid will not help. Your clematis probably has a fungal disease. Go to you local independent garden center and ask for an appropriate fungicide. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
