Climbing Rose Leaves Slowly Turn Dark Brown And New Growth Is Faded

Question From: Mesa, Arizona, United States
Q: I have not seen a picture of the problem I have. I have a climbing rose and four other roses that start to begin with a strip of dark brown on the leaves...above part is yellow and before you know the whole leaf is dark brown. I don't see any that fall off, but when I see the brown spreading I pull them off. I notice lately the new growth is nothing but a lite lite green. I hate to loose all these roses and am worried I am doing the wrong thing. I have sprayed with a fungus spray and to now avail. I'm beginning to think it may be the heat. I live in Arizona and the heat has been pretty bad this year. Our temperature has been in the 100's.

A: My guess is you roses are suffering from sun scorch. Misting the leaves with water on 100 degree days will help. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
