Crepe Myrtle Has Clear Hard Droplets On Tips Of Leaves

Question From: Pahrump, Nevada, United States
Q: my crepe myrtle has clear hard droplets on tips of leaves , what is it and how do I get rid of the problem? it had it last year too, and it did not bloom last year either, my other myrtles in the same yard do not have it. Thank you

A: Sherre, I believe the droplets come from the flowers. Sounds like your tree either encountered some sort of event when the flowers buds were forming or it was given a hair cut at the wrong time of year. Keep an eye open for issues on the leaves or bark. If you find them I would call a certified arborist for an onsite inspection. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org. Best Nancy and thanks for visiting Yardener.com.
