Crepe Myrtle Leaves Brown Around Edges And Falling On Ground

Question From: Cape Coral, Florida, United States
Q: our crepes have bown around the edges of the leaf. The leaves are falling on the ground. What should we do? Is this normal?

A: Not at this time of the year. Browning on the edges of the leaves is usually caused by lack of water. They are considered drought tolerant once established that can take a couple of years, but should be watered if its dry. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
