Crepe Myrtle Trees Are Not Blooming This Year

Question From: b. wink - Hastings, Florida, United States
Q: I have 5 crepe myrtle trees..last year they had flowers.this tear only 1 flowered???why is this????

A: Pruning at the wrong time - they bloom on current year's growth, lack of sun, too much fertilizer, not enough sun and/or unseasonably hot weather or frost are all reasons why crepe fail to bloom. However, the season is not over so cross your fingers and give them a good drink. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
