Douglas Firs Have Orange And Grey Branches With Some Black Berries

Question From: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States
Q: Douglas firs have some orange branches and some grey with some black berries. We had a lot of rain. What can I do about it? Is Sevin good to spray on it?

A: If it were my tree I would get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. My guess the orange is a disease and Sevin, a very toxic pesticide will only kill beneficial insects. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
