Grass Has Turned Bumpy And Has Different Shades In Some Areas

Question From: B. BLOHM - Beloit, Wisconsin, United States
Q: Over the last couple of years my lawn has become very bumpy. Also in a couple of places the grass has turned a different shade of green and feels very soft. Any idea why?

A: Sounds like you have moles. They tunnel in the soil below the turf, leaving behind limps and bumps. Grass roots are damaged and dry out more quickly then the rest of the turf. Moles traps are effective but take time and you have to learn how to use them. There are companies that do more control. Check out your yellow pages and do get references.
