How Far Apart Should American Boxwoods Be Planted For Privacy Hedge

Question From: Holmdel, New Jersey, United States
Q: Nancy, I am planting American Boxwoods to form a privacy hedge that I hope eventually will grow to be 5 or 8 feet high. There is conflicting advice as to how far apart I should space the plants. 2, 2 1/2 and 3 feet are all recommended. Do you have a recommendation? I live in Monmouth County New Jersey if that makes any difference. Thank you.

A: Michael, I am not a trained landscaper so I can't answer your question. You might contact the American Boxwood Society for a more educated answer. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
