How Old Or Big Do Arborvitae Need To Be Before Rabbits Will Stop Eating Them
Question From: R. Graham - Davenport, Iowa, United States
Q: At what age bush does a rabbit stop eating an Arborvitae Bush? I have cages around my bushes and they are 5 years old and about 5 feet tall. I would like to remove the cages but wondering if the rabbits will still eat them? Especially in the Winter time.
Rabbits will eat the tender new growth, usually in spring when other greens are scarce. I use a liquid spray or granular repellant called Plant Skydd, that is effective on both Deer and Rabbits. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
