Question From: A. Holtz - Rochester, Michigan, United States
Q: Nancy, I read your Virburnum article in the Detroit Freepress Homestyle section this winter, and bought one, a Tree, Doublefile Mariesi. Looking for a "pollinator sister" to plant along with it. Do you have any suggestions on what to buy? Also, how close together should the trees be planted to take advantage of the cross pollination? I appreciate any informantion you may be able to share
A: Anita, look for a variety of *Viburnum plicatum var. tomentosum. Yours does not berry heavily, so you might not get the bang for the buck you are looking for. Distance should be within 100 feet. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
