Q: I have 15' tall arborvitae hedge outlining my property. The roots spread about as far from the trunks as they are tall . One of your suggestions is to water with soaker hoses during a drought. Will this be sufficient?
Depends on the type of soil you have and the amount of rainfall in your area. Arbs planted in sand will need water if it doesn't rain on a regular basis. Check the moisture in the soil an inch below ground level and water if it is dry. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
