Keeping Mandevilla And Trumpet Plants Over Winter

Question From: B. Andreasson - MICHIGAN
Q: I read your article every week. I have 3 beautiful mandevilla plants on my balcony and I was wondering if I could keep them over the winter and if you think I can, how would I go about it. Also I have a trumpet plant (bush) that was beautiful this summer, loaded with big yellow flowers, and would I be able to winter that also. I have wintered geranium plants and they have done beautifully. I have gotten so many good tips from your articles. Thank you

Hopefully you will bring them in tonight. Some folks take them to the basement and let them go dormant in a cool area. Do put a few ice cubes on the surface of the soil every couple of weeks to keep the soil moist. Best Nancy
