Question From: S. Hadgisava - Baron, Picardy, France
Q: I have a bald cypress I planted less then a month ago and it turning yellow then red. It seems like its drying out but I am watering every day, sometimes just a little though. Should I water more?
A: Check the soil in the root ball and around the tree. Newly planted trees need 5 to 10 gallons of water a week. It should be moist but not sodden. Here in the Michigan in the U.S. we have had an unusually cold wet summer and the trees are beginning to turn color earlier than normal. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
