Pin Oak Trees Covered In Spider Webs

Question From: Katy, Texas, United States
Q: Some of my Pin Oak trees exhibit a closely wove spider web on the bark of the tree and climb all the way to the tops of the trees, covering / encircling the upper tree limbs. Should I be concerned? I have 12 mature (12 yr) trees.

A: I recommend you have them looked at by a certified arborist. If there is an issue a bad guess could be very costly. I never recommend folks self medicate their trees without the advice of a professional inspecting them first. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
