Small Cherry Laurel Trees Are Spindly With Leaves Mostly On Ends Of Branches

Question From: D. Scott - South Pasadena, California, United States
Q: Hi Nancy, We bought some 6' cherry laurels a year ago. Most are thriving but some are spindly, with leaves only on the very ends. We live in Los Angeles, so were told to deep water every 3 days for 6 months, then every 5, now every week. Am I perhaps watering too much? Or too little? The spindly ones are right next to the thriving ones....??? Thanks so much

A: I suggest you have get an onsite inspection by a trained tree doctor, a certified arborist. That is what I would do. Trees can have more then one issue and a bad guess can be costly. To find a professional in you area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
