Top Of Pine Tree Is Turning Brown

Question From: Heathcote, , United Kingdom
Q: There is a large pine tree near our property, no ours belonging to obnoxious neighbours who refuse to do anything with it, or the area it is on...their responsibility. I, according to the law, have trimmed overhanging branches coming into our property. The top of the tree is turning brown in some arras, why is this please. Thank you for your help.

The Norway Spruce probably had one of several diseases that attack these trees. If left untreated it will eventually die and then taking it down will be the issue. Pines have soft wood and rot rather quickly so once it goes it should be taken down in a timely manner. Best Nancy
