Tulip Tree Leaves Have Small Holes And Are Dropping Liquid
Question From: T. Hamilton - Eagle, Idaho, United States
Q: Tulip Tree leaves are droping liquid which may be sap and have small holes in them. Tree looks healthy except for a few dead branches. Neighboring trees (Maples were cut down last year due to unknown disease. I have treated (last spring) with Bayer Systemic time released insectacide and wondered if this was the best treatment.
Diseases of trees are plant specific so the problem with your Tulip tree is not a disease. I think you have a one or more woodpeckers at work. I would get an onsite inspection from a professional, a certified arborist. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
