Question From: L. Muenzenberger - Rochester, Michigan, United States
Q: Dear Nancy, We really love your column in the Detroit News. We look forward to the solid, practical advice. One of the main reasons we still subscribe to the paper. The recent pruning article is particularly relevant as we have several large viburnums to cut back to see if they will produce any blooms before we decide to keep our remove the natural barrier screen. We plan to pruned this weekend. Any advice on our plan? We would like to have our very old Fiskars serviced, oiled, sharpened and if possible the red grip replaced. These are my favorite go to pruners. Where do we find this service. I didn't see resources mentioned in the article. Please advise. Thank you for your sharing your knowledge. Sincerely, Lisa Muenzenberger
A: Thanks for the kind words. Dale White at Uncle Luke's Feed Store on Livernois in Troy, sharpens pruners. But call ahead to see if he can do it while you wait. Unfortunately the only other place I know of in this area is a gentleman at the Rochester Farmer's Market, but I don't think it's open at this time of year. You might also check at your local hardware store. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
