Will Cherry Laurel Make A Good Hedge

Question From: El Paso, Texas, United States
Q: How well do you think a cherry laurel would do in El Paso TX? I am looking for a plant that will grow 7' to 8' and will block the veiw between me and my nieghbors. The wall is only 3' tall.

A: Cherry laurels make great hedges. Plant them 2 to 3 feet apart. You can keep them at any height. Just plan to prune them EVERY year. Cherry Laurels like moist soils so plan to water it regularly. My research says they are best planted in fall when the weather cools. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
