Best Way To Remove Dead Leaves From Ivy Bed

Question From: J. Hageman - Weston, Ohio, United States
Q: What is the best way to remove dead leaves (fell from trees) from my ivy bed? Also, a lot of the ivy leaves turned brown after the harsh winter this year. Should I cut the ivy back, or just wait till the new growth covers the brown leaves?

A: You can mow the ivy with a lawnmower set at 3-inches. A leaf blower or vacuum will do a quick job of cleaning up the leaves. I love my WORX tri-vac, When you're finished vacuuming empty the mulched leaves back on the the ivy bed and brush them in with a broom.. Mother Nature's way of feeding the soil.
