How Tall Can Tomatoes Be Grown

Question From: C. Sorg - INDIANA
Q: If given the proper infrastructure e.g. cages made of chicken wire or chain link fencing, as well as excellent growing conditions i.e. perfect soil ph balance, ample sunlight, and moderate temperatures, could tomatoes grow to heights of 50 feet? If not tomato plants then what, if any, plant could accomplish such growth? (Cages would be 50 feet tall) I am interested in the sense of pushing industrial farming limits. Thank you.

It's already been done Chris. The current record holder acording to The Guiness Book of Records measures a whopping 65 feet. Do a google search to find out the particulars. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
