Magnolia Has Bright Pink Clusters

Question From: ILLINOIS
Q: our magnolia had scales last year. This year it appears healthier but has some bright punk clusters on It . They are not uniformly shaped , look abut like chocolate covered peanut clusters but bright pink. There are a few bright punk berries also emerging . Could it be happening because of a very mild winter, early spring and summer drought. ? Thanks, Donna

A:

Donna, I recommend you have an on-site inspection from a certified arborist, a tree doctor. The funky weather and drought have played havoc with our trees. Best Nancy
