Rose Bushes Are Floppy

Question From: Kidder, Missouri, United States
Q: the stems on the rose bushes are not strong enough to hold up the (beautiful) blooms. They tend to droop to the ground.

A: Joyce, Too much fertilizer and/or not enough sun will cause flopping. Also, some roses, such as the ground cover roses are developed to stay low to the ground so their growth habit encourages flopping. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
