Question From: Babson Park, Florida, United States
Q: My Zinia transplants are dying. Stunted growth, brown spots on dry crackeling leaves. Flowers same thing. I don't think I will save them, but would like to know what is going on. Thought maybe to much water on them, but I'm thinking it goes way beyond that.
Your zinnias suffered from Alternaria blight. Here's a good website that fully explains what the disease is and how to deal with it. http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/gardens-gardening/your-garden/help-for-the-home-gardener/advice-tips-resources/pests-and-problems/diseases/fungal-spots/alternaria-blight.aspx Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
