Planting Tuliptree

Tulip Trees prefer to be in full sun and in deep, rich, moist, well-drained soil. They prefer acidic soil but can handle a higher pH. They are ideal for flood plains, growing up to 3 feet per year when young and happily situated. Keep them away from the house and parked car because they are brittle and lightning prone. Tulip Trees may be planted in Zones 5 to 9. The lowest recommended temperature is -20° F.
