Preventing Budworm

One of the reasons to try to have a balanced healthy ecosystem in your yard is that some of the common inhabitants will help you keep budworm under control. Animal predators of spruce budworms included red squirrels and many songbirds. Various wasp predators, spiders, spider mites, and trichogramma wasps are probably already out there hunting down any budworms that might be in your yard.
