Problems of Serviceberry

Serviceberry has few insect or disease problems. Japanese beetles might occasionally show up, but seldom do any serious harm (Controlling Japanese Beetles). The only real problem in the home landscape are the root suckers that pop up each spring at the base of the trunk. They are easily pruned away.
