Symptoms of Budworm

One of the most destructive pests of evergreens, budworms chew the opening buds and needles of trees and shrubs, including Douglas fir, pine, larch and hemlock. They usually web the needles together with their silk while they feed. Trees wilt and terminal shoots are new growth become deformed. Plants may be so weakened that they become prime targets for other insect pests.
