Honeysuckle vines aren't clingers, so you'll need to train them along a fence or up a trellis. They're best for covering banks or other uneven ground, for softening architectural lines, hiding utilities, as privacy screens or to provide a quick fill-in of greenery in wooded areas. The plants are hard to control and should not be used for borders unless they can be confined somehow, as in a strip between a walkway and a wall.
