Using Liriope in Landscape

Blue lily-turf is effective in massed beds, in borders, in informal groups in front of shrubs or in perennial beds or rock gardens. Take advantage of its unique shape and texture, and use it as an accent in flowerbeds. An attractive ground cover, clumps of Blue lily-turf can be used on hills to control soil erosion.

Cutting/Displaying Indoors: While Blue lily-turf flowers are relatively unassuming, they make a nice addition to arrangements of more dramatic flowers. Cut the flower spikes for indoor display in the early morning, with a clean, sharp knife. Plunge them into a pail of warm water for several hours for conditioning. Then arrange them in their container, and add a teaspoon of sugar per quart of water in the container to prolong freshness.
