Wrens are important members of the natural pest insect defense system in your yard. They patrol their territories relentlessly for insects and their larvae --many of them plant pests. They need them to eat themselves and to feed their two broods of babies over the season. Some types of wrens will occasionally eat berries or other plant matter during the winter when insects are not as available.
