Ajuga Plant Leaves Are Coming Off Stem Or Appear Eaten

Question From: b. Hall - Southside, Tennessee, United States
Q: Nancy, my ajuga I planted last spring now look like they are coming out of the ground and look as if the leaves are coming off of the stem or looks like something has eaten the leaves. They are in the shade next to the house, I don't think the deer come up that far so what do you think is going on? Should I dig up and replant or wait and see what spring and summer brings?

Be patient and see what happens. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
