Andromeda Leaves Are Turning Yellow

Question From: Morris Plains, New Jersey, United States
Q: What would cause the leaves on our andromeda shrubs to turn yellow?
(Click Images To View Larger Versions)

Could be root rot if the shrub is planted in clay soil. They need good drainage. Lace bugs are another possibility. Tiny black spots on the undersides of the leaves would were the bugs have fed would indicate this. Spraying with neem oil or other insecticide listed for this insect and shrub is indicated. Be sure to get good coverage on the underside of the leaves. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
