Question From: Wilkinson, Indiana, United States
Q: I live in Indiana and have arborvitae trees along the back of my house. I had 3 at one time and one of them turned completely brown. I replaced it and the replacement turned completely brown. What is possibly wrong with the spot that I am planting it in. I would like to replace it again but afraid another may do the same thing. Do you have any suggestions as to what might be going on and what I might do before I plant another. The other 2 are beautiful and have had no problem with them.
A: Could be lack of water or too much water. Also the tree may not have been in good condition when you bought it. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
